November 1st 2015 - Azores, Portugal
76 year old Robert Burns has lived at sea for many years. He sent his brother a letter which he received on 31st October 2015. In this letter he stated that he intended to travel from the Azores to the Canary Islands.
Coastguards have confirmed that he left TeerceiraIsland in the Azores on 1st November 2015 on his boat "Roamer" but neither he nor his boat have been seen or heard from since. All efforts to raise him by the coastguard have been negative.
Robert would contact his brother from port when he reached his destinations, using landlines, and would write him letters. He has no other methods of communication.
For Robert not to contact his family for this length of time is out of character.
